After Effects 2021 Variations renders h.264/Mp4 as solid green

I am trying to render some projects that contain Mp4 files in them, but the files are just showing as completely green or flashing green randomly throughout the video.

I have tried updating VLC, downloading K-Lite Codec pack, uninstalling After Effects entirely, using creative cloud cleaner tool, deleting cache, switching renderer to Mercury CUDA, and to no avail.

Still green video.

Please help! I think the graphics card could be dying since it is kind of dated, but want to make sure

FIXED!

Go to Preferences > Import and deselect enable hardware accelerated decoding, then clear media and disk cache and clean database and cache. Works great now.

After Effects 2020 seems to work fine.

I have also changed the color depth to 8bit like some users have reccommended on other forums.
