After effects overwriting maximum disc cache

Hi, I'm having a problem where After Effects is ignoring the maximum allowed disc cache size.
I just had to empty my folder containing 436GB of cache while I set the maximum to 300GB.

Also, is it normal that it takes only 1 day of work to reach 436GB of cache? Seems like a lot.

Without any info about your system, your version of AE, your cache settings and other stuff we can't realyl tell you much. This used to be an issue in some 22.x versions, but should have been fixed in the 23 version or at least the 23.1 update.
