Question

After Effects plays only for a couple of frames!

I am trying to smoothly play my timeline, but its only playing 4 frames (or so).

Even on a blank timeline its not playing back.

I have attached the video for the exact issue.

Don't reason that I don't have enough RAM.

Its running on M1 Max with 32GB RAM.

Thanks for writing in.

Can you try clearing the media cache (Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache) and try to preview? How much RAM have you allotted to other apps (After Effects Preferences > Memory & Performance)? Also, what's the exact version of After Effects you're using?
