Question

Camera following the end-point of a trim path

This may be simple or impossible! I'm fairly inexperienced with AE.

I have a complex trim path (I'm using Geo Layers, the path is from a GPX track). Is it possible to link a camera so that it precisely follows the end point of the trim path? Obviously far from straight.

I just want a straight-down ('normal') view, and a fixed zoom, so think I just need to inherit the XY position from the end of the path.

When you use the Create Nulls From Paths/Trace Paths gives you a percentage slider and a loop switch. Turn off the loop switch, add a simple expression from Trim Paths Start to the Slider for the Null, Shift + Parent the layer you want to follow the null, and you're done.

I hope this helps.

The expression created by the function will attach the Null to the path and follow it, so I'm not sure what you're asking.

Select the path, create Null that is linked to it and follows it, parent the camera to it.

Thanks. But how do I link the Null to the end-point of the trim-path, when it's only a percentage?
