Question

CC particle system is replacing my layer instead of applying as effect

I want to make this animated butterfly sparkle. Everytime I try on a wing or the body the effect just takes it place instead of applying it. I have tried creating another "null object" with this effect to follow the butterfly but it just doesn't look as good. I've attached images below, any help would be really appreciated!

Particle effects take over a layer. You apply them to a solid. To attach the particles to the wing of your butterfly, you will have to track the wing's motion, parent the particle layer to the wing, or add an expression to tie the position, rotation, and maybe even the scale to the emitter. The workflow depends on the particle effect you choose and how you have animated the butterfly. If I was using Particular I would have to tie the position of a Light with a special name to the wing to get the emitter to follow the wing.

Give us workflow details and embed screenshots showing the modified properties (press 'uu') of the critical layers showing, so we have some idea of what you are doing.
