Colouring issue

Ive been having an issue where when I add a large file movie for example 4gb, after effects changes my colouring and Im not sure what to do. Outside of AE the colour of the clips are fine but when I add movies or an episode to AE it ruins the colour and desaturates it. Does anyone know what to do or if they have had this issue too?
