Hide mask paths (not contents) for all but selected mask

I am working with multiple overlapping masks on a layer and it's distracting to see all of them when I'm only adjusting one over the course of a scene. I know I can toggle the visibility of ALL masks with the little button at the bottom of the comp window. What I really need is to be able to do that for all but the ONE I'm editing. Note that I don't want to change the mask modes - I need to see the content as its impacted by all of the masks in the scene. I'm just trying to get rid of the clutter on the content.

Here is a technique that I have used in the past.

  1. Add a colored solid above the layer you are masking
  2. Set the blend mode to overlay or screen so you can see through the layer
  3. Draw your new mask and animate as needed
  4. Make the layer a track matte so you can check it for accuracy
  5. When everything is perfect, turn off track matte, select the mask, Ctrl/Cmnd + x to cut it
  6. Select the original footage layer and paste
  7. Repeat for the other masks.

I have used this technique many times when doing rotoscoping work. It's fast and easy and efficient, and you only have to deal with one mask at a time.

Unfortunately there is no such feature to isolate a single mask for viewing.
