How Do I achieve this grey tint look to certain areas in my design

Hi,

I am trying to design in after effects the tint look on the faces and arms; leaving the rest of the outfit still saturated. I am close to achieving this by playing and experimenting with the Lumetri Color Application - Curves Hue & Saturation, however, I just don't know what I need to be doing to get it consistently. By playing with it I achieved the look (partially) but I am just not sure how to do it again. Below are examples of what I'm looking for, I know in Photoshop you can design it using a masking, layers, brush tool and black and white filter on the hue and saturation. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

You will have to create some masks. The process is called Rotoscope.

Mocha AE will be a better tool than Rotobrush unless you are lucky with some of the shots. The masks can be used to isolate the uniforms on duplicate layers, or you can use Masks as compositing options for color correction effects.

Spend some time with the free Mocha Essentials online classes. Start with the Intro to Roto Part O8, and then move on to the Basics of Roto. The project will take some time, but Mocha AE will do an excellent job of combining planar tracking and masking to give accurate results with the fewest keyframes.
