Mirroring in After Effcts

Hello,

I want to mirror (flip in opposite direction) a leg. I drew first leg, copied that as seond leg. Then take a null layer. Made the leg to child of the null layer. and when I scale the null position horizontally in -100 px it goes upward, not in opposite direction, but the tutorial am following his one works perfect. Why I can not achieve the same effect?

 

please help.

You have not unlinked the two scale dimensions. You need to do so and set the Y scaling back to a positive 100 % , not negative.
