Need help with shape masks

Hi,

I am having trouble with masking an animated object.

Created a text layer then while text layer selected created a mask using the Pen tool. 

Want to create text reveal animation, the problem is the mask is somehow auto linked with the text and it's animating with the direction of text, I never touched the mask path stopwatch. I want to keep the mask still while only text layer animates.

Your mask is on the text layer, so when you move the text's position, it's moving the mask too.

A better approach would be to add your mask to a layer above your text layer, then use an Alpha Matte track mask.  This will remain in place, and the text layer will only appear when its inside that masked area.
