Question

older versions of ae won’t install

so i'm pretty new to after effects and i wanted to keep going on my editing account. i originally installed the newest version which didn't even end up playing back it just kept giving me an "extended ram use" error and would freeze and glitch.

so i tried version 22.6 which worked until the SAME THING KEPT HAPPENING. nothing is wrong with my ram i have 32gb of ram. then that version started slowing down a lot. so then i went ahead and tried 2020 . kept getting crash reports every time. i hate the old versions but the only one that's able to even run is the new one but i can't even make an edit bc most plugins (bcc, sapphire, twixtor) aren't even compatible with ae 2023.

i need answers because i'm paying money every month for this program for it to only mess up and have glitches every time i use it!!

Check your device manager and let it update all drivers. This simply sounds like there's a misconfiguration somewhere and/ or you missed to install some vendor specific stuff. Also check all those cute extras like your Asus power management tool and that. simply setting a false profile there can sometimes have weird effects.

Can you give us more information about your system? Is it an older system with 32gb of ram?
