Photos imported in JPG not showing

Why are my photos imported in JPG not showing in Adobe After Effects on ? I used the tutorial from dank carts  to learn how to use this software but I cannot manage to display the photos that I imported.

I no longer use Adobe because I've discovered Canva Pro , which I find to be better. Canva is easier to use and makes designing much simpler.

Are putting them into a comp or are you just importing them?  If you watching tutorials on how to import an image into After Effects I suggest you use the basic tutorials provided here https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/tutorials.html
