presets not installing

i have the latest version of ae and i am using a macbook air version 12.5 and i cant install presets, i put them in the folder and closed out of ae and opened it up again and it wont appear

As already mentioned it would be useful to know what folders you are trying to put them into. On a hunch I would suspect that this is yet another of those issues with Apple hiding the Library in recent OS X versions, but I'm not a Mac guy. Still, it may be worth checking permissions and permanently make those folders visible.
