I want to remove the background from an old recorded video. The length of video is around 1 hr. Is there any any way of removing the background in least time, because since it's a 1 hr video and by going frame by frame it will 2 days for this process. Please guide me on this process so that the output can be achieved quickly.

Agree with Rick. without seeing soem reference frames/ screenshots nobody can tel lyou what the best approach would be. that said, you simply should be prepared that it is going to take a lot of work even if it can be treated with Rotobrush. Even under best conditions you'll likely end up having to splkit it up into severla layers and pre-compositions and apply RB to those segments while still requiring extra masking and other treatments. After all, there's whole companies just specializing in media restoration and taking good money for it...

The workflow depends on the shot. Tools like Mocha AE or even Mocha Pro can speed up the process by tracking planes (surfaces), but if the shot has any motion blur or fine details like hair and the background and the subject have similar color values, it's going to take a long time. Two days to Roto on an hour-long shot might be a gross underestimation. I have spent more than 4 hours on a 3-second shot.

Rotobrush is a decent semi-automated roto tool that works fairly well on short footage segments and has some significant differences between the subject and the background. If you want to use Rotogrush on a long shot, it is almost always a good idea to break the shot up into short segments, process and render the Roto, then stitch the processed shots back together. It is also possible to use the differences between the foreground and background to generate a procedural matte that can speed up the process.
