Trouble validating Adobe Aftereffects CS6 serial number

Hi, I'm having trouble connecting to validate my Adobe After Effects CS6. Today I reinstalled it and put in the valid serial number and and tried to validate it and got an error message saying "Please connect to the Internet and retry",  however my computer was online. I tried Adobe Customer Service and they said to try this group as they don't support CS6 anymore.  Does anyone have a solution?
