Question I've had for months: How do I get a socket policy file?

My question is:

What is the minimum amount of code to request a socket policy file off a server?

I have a working server that will return a policy file if it is sent the right packet. However, I don't have AS3 code that will request one.

I wrote sockets with a policy file 4 years ago, but it no longer works for some reason.
