First of all, I want to thank everyone here for being patient with me. Coming from an Adobe Cloud and Camtasia world, my initial foray into Captivate is a bit maddening. Fortunately, there appears to be an answer to every issue that I have had, so that is encouraging. I promise you that I spend quite a bit of time looking for an answer to my questions before I resort to asking them here. Luckily for all involved, I usually find the answers online, and you guys are spared.

Now, my current question -

I have a 25 second video on my timeline, yet there it shows as being 38.2s, and I cannot drag the trailing edge to shorten it.

Hmmm, wondering if the 25 second video is using a different frame rate?

I know Captivate typically assumes 30 frames per second.

Out of curiosity, why would you shift to Captivate from Camtasia? Especially if you have a desire for full motion video.

    Cheers... Rick

You guys are wonderful. The video is 25fps. I would imagine that changing my project to 25fps will screw up all of my timings, possibly even my closed-captions. Luckily, I'm at the early stage of the project.

What is the framerate of the video? Default framerate for Captivate is 30fps.

How does it look when you play it in the editor?

On the question of why I switched to Captivate, I haven't necessarily. I'll still probably keep Camtasia around for creating screen capture based tutorials, but for this particular project I needed the functionality of a notebook so that the learner could take notes throughout the course and have the ability to print them. Coming from a programming background originally, I rather like the Advanced Actions ability, it give so much more control than available in Camtasia. I also like the 'slide-based' framework.
