Activation limit reached for Captivate 5.

Hello,

I'm working on Windows 10 trying to use Captivate 5. I get the Activation limit reached message when I try to activate it using my serial number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You really need to deactivate your license of Captivate on other computers where it has been installed, so that you can then reactivate it on a new computer.

If you cannot do that, then you need to talk directly to Adobe Support. This is only a user forum.

I cannot imagine that your version is compatible with Win10 at all! Even version 8 is not compatible and yours dates from 5 years ago.

Thanks RodWard, Adobe support contacted me and was able to resolve the issue. Captivate 5 is now working on my Windows 10 machine.

That's great. But as Lieve mentions, there are significant differences between Windows 10 and the earlier versions of Windows on which Captivate 5 was designed to work. So you would be well advised to make sure you set Cp5 to work in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 or earlier, and make sure you follow the general guidelines that always apply to Captivate regarding using Run As Administrator and never working on projects located anywhere other than your local hard drive.
