Advanced/Shared Actions Problem with Changing State

I am trying to create a shared action that will play an audio file and change the state of a selected graphic. However, when I try to choose the object to change the state of (which is a Smart Shape used as a button), I only see two options, as shown in the screenshot below. I don't know why this is happening. I've created other actions and was able to select the objects I needed. Any advice?

I tried saving a shared action using one of the options shown here (Image_10203), hoping that I could change the object later using parameters. No such luck. I still see only these two choices.

I am running Captivate 2017 (10.0.0.192) on a Mac. I recently upgraded from Captivate 9, which is what this project was started in.

Are you sure to have more multistate objects? You are using CP2017, so I'm sure that you can point to multistate objects even when they are on other slides than the slide where you trigger the action (which is not the case for simple actions). Can you check the 'other' multistate objects please?

May I also recommend to label objects, especially those to be used in actions? It is tough to work with generic names.
