Question

audio fading up gradually but don't know why

Audio levels start low at the start of each slide and gradually get louder until the next slide transitions into the presentation. Audio levels sound even in creation/edit mode and the wav files themselves sound correct. This is only happening when Publishing the final version of the project. Checked the Fade In setting via Audio Management, it is set to 0. I want to stop the low volume on my audio from happening at the start of every slide. Using Captivate 8 for the project, imported audio from Audacity into the Captivate project (again, while creating the project the audio seemed totally fine, this seems to only happen when the project is Published). Any help or thoughts would be appreciated!

I cannot recall having seen this exact issue before, but I am always suspicious when there is a mention of another editing application being involved in the mix.  (In this case Audacity.)

Could I suggest you try an experiment by just recording some audio directly to slides in a test project without using Audacity at all.  When you add audio using Captivate and not Audacity, and then publish to the same output, do you see the same issue?  If so, then I think your issue is external to Captivate somehow.  But if the issue disappears when Captivate is responsible for the entire workflow, then I think Audacity must be somehow causing this.

For the record, I have used both Captivate directly, and Adobe Audition to record audio and have never seen the same issue you have.  So if Adobe Soundbooth and Adobe Audition (both audio editing apps) don't cause this, they might be your other option instead of Audacity.
