Question

audio problem in captivate 9 (software simulation)

I have recorded a software simulation. It has about 100 slides. I added captions to most of the slides and recorded audio to all the captions. They are mostly short (longest is 7-8 secs and not many of those)...

When i preview project and/or publish it, half way through the demo, the audio gets cut-off at the beginning of almost all the slides until the end. Can you please help?

Just to be clear about this:

    • Did you mean you added Closed Captions, or that you added Captions and then added the audio to those captions?
    • If your audio is added to slides, is it a single audio clip extended over the length of the project with the slides timed to synch with the audio along the way?  If so, try going to each slide and moving the audio clip AWAY from the beginning and end of each slide so that it will become a separate clip and not just part of one huge one.

Thanks for replying! I added captions to each slide and then recorded the audio directly to each caption. Most of the captions/audio is just short instructions such as "click here, now do  this, and now click this...etc" Some captions/audio are longer, explaining a certain area of the screen or event but there are not many of these...The file is 35MB. Would this information change your suggestions? Thanks!

OK.  I think your approach is not a very wise one.  You would be better advised to record your audio to each slide in this case, not each object on the slide.

Record the audio to the slide, move the audio a little away from the beginning and end of the slide, and time the captions and other objects to appear on slide at the relevant point in the timeline.
