Can I group a smart shape and a rollover caption hotspot in CP8, but not group the rollover caption itself?

In CP8, I want to create an object - a red dot - that will be used for rollover captions throughout a project. I created a red dot, created a rollover caption, and sized the rollover hotspot to the red dot. I'd like to group the red dot and the hotspot, so I can easily duplicate the combined object. However, when I group them, the caption itself becomes part of the group. Moving the dot/hotspot combination also moves the caption, and vice versa. Is there a way I can group the shape and the rollover hotspot without including the caption in the group? I've tried, but haven't found a way to do it. Or, is there a better way to create a rollover object that can be moved independently of the rollover caption?

The rollover area and the rollover caption are one object, although you can configure their properties separately. It looks logical to me that they get together in a group, you see only one object on the Timeline: the rollover area.

Why should this prevent moving the caption on its own? You have always to select it on the stage, since it doesn't have a separate timeline. You can move it, the bounding box for the group will just resize due to movement of either the shape, or the rollover area, or the rollover caption. In these 3 screenshots you see same group with one shape and one rollover caption. Second screenshot I have moved the area, third I moved the caption.

That's what I figured. It's turning out to be less of an issue than I thought. Thanks!
