Captivate 8: Adding Emphasis to Simulation Slides

Hi All,

I have a system simulation that I'd like to point out certain parts of the slides to learners. I'm not sure how to do it, although from what I can see it's should be really easy. Can anyone help please?

Below is a screenshot; it's the yellow circles that highlight parts that I'd like to add to my simulation. It's a responsive project. Thank you.

Hello Lilybiri,

Thank you for the quick feedback.

I've done what you suggested and it looks ok. However, there appears to be an animation on the drawing of the circle which I sent. I'll see if it's an effect or animation. I'm not sure how to explain it, but the screen shot I sent actually show as though the circle is being drawn over the area to be highlighted.  Let me have a look and revert.

Camtasia, Presenter Video Xpress have such a drawn circle, but those are pure video capturing apps. You are talking about slide-based software simulations (which have a lot of advantages, and allow interactivity).  Captivate doesn't have such a canned animation. You can create it easily with an animation app if it has to be like that, or you can think outside of the box and replace it by a flicker or other emphasizeing effect.

I see you are using CP8, wich means you are using Breakpoint views. I would rarely use that for a software simulation, but it is your choice of course.

Create a shape style which has the correct stroke width and color and no Fill (Alpha = 100%) and create ellipse shapezs based on that style. You could even add an effect.

Default set for software simulations uses highlight boxes, but they have the limitation of only being rectangular.
