Captivate 9 - Skip/Fail Pre test, Not Scoring Post Test

Hi All,

I've tried resolving this 100 different way and I've even rebuilt the entire course.

I have a course with a pre-test, content, and a post-test. I'm using branch aware and some advanced functions to execute the following:

-if a user passes the pre-test, they pass the score with their pre-test passing score

-if a user skips the pre-test, they are directed through the content and must pass the post-test (same questions as pre-test)

-if a user fails the pre-test, they are directed through the content and must pass the post-test

-if a user fails the post-test, they have the option to retake the post test

My issue: if i skip or fail the pre-test, when I answer all of the post-test questions correctly, it still gives me a score of zero and says I failed. I've tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot this but to no avail. Any suggestions? Is my file still corrupt? If so, how can I best rebuild the project without corrupting it again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I need more info. How did you set up the first situation? Pretest score is only used for the conditional Pretest action, will not be reported. How did you arrange that? Is it the reason you use Branch aware? What do you see on the score slide when the post-test is answered correctly?

Hi Lilybiri,

The pre-test is setup with regular quiz questions and that is why I'm using branch aware.

If I skip the pre-test is shows below in my tracker

After I answer all of the post-test questions correctly, it shows below.

There are some advanced functions to skip the quiz, # of attempts, etc, but they all appear correct. Thanks.

OK, so you didnt use the Pretest questions, which makes your title bit confusing.

Did you check the Advanced Interaction panel (F9)? I should have to screen all advanced actions, which looks bit beyond the scope of this forum.

To debug: please insert some quizzing system variables on the first slide, timed for the rest of the project to watch their value. I think about cpInfoPercentage, cpQuizInfoPointsscored, cpQuizInfoLastSlidePointScored.
