Captivate Video Publish to Play From Folder Hosted Content

Hi,

I have successfully published content containing a video that plays when hosted on a webserver/LMS.

The same content will not play when running the html player file when hosting the content on Windows folders. Is there a way I can publish it that either:

- makes the embedded video play when running the player file directly from a windows folder?

- places the video within the publish folder set so that it can be run by clicking a link from within the player content?

Any solution would be gratefully in mind. I'm not very technically gifted.

Thanks

Tom

How did you insert the video in the first place?

If you insert as event video or multi-slide video, it still plays with an html5 video tag. As far as I know there isn't anything about the video tag that needs a server to run. There are parts of it, like using a .vtt file for closed captioning that need a server for Chrome.

If the video won't play on a local drive, I'm not sure how you are going to play a video unless it's in a default player like Media Player.

You are probably talking about HTML5 output (because you refer to xxx.html and not to xxx.htm for launching)? It has to be deployed on a web server but you can install such a server on any system.

Referring to a video, and inserting it in the "callees" subfolder is perfectly possible.

Thanks. Where can I finds instruction on how to insert it in the 'callees' subfolder please? I see where the folder is, but need instruction on entering the link appropriately within the content so that it links to it and automatically plays.
