Checking slide dependancies

Good afternoon.

I have a theme (collection of master slides) that I am using across a number e learning lessons. I am not using every master slide in each e learning lesson and I wondered if there was a quick way to check which master slides were in use in each lesson, so I could delete the master slides not in use making the each lesson leaner.

Hopefully my question makes sense.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Best wishes

Russell

    Correct answer Lilybiri

A theme  is more than just master slides:

    What's in a Theme - a Template? - Captivate blog

Is there a specific reason why you want to delete those unused master slides? I don't really know about a way to detect the unused ones but would never 'cripple' a theme by doing that. If the reason is that the list with master sides is becoming too long when choosing with Inser, Slide from, know that the sequence of that list stems from the sequence in the master slide panel. You can change that sequence easily.  Do you have other reasons to want to delete master slides?

Hi Lilybiri, I found your post very useful, especially the information regarding Themes in Captivate. I was trying to make the file size smaller but then discovered that there were many unused items in the Library which I have since deleted. Enjoy your day kind regards Russell

There is a difference between the file size of the raw cptx-file, which will decrease when you clear out unused items in the Library, and the published file (whether HTML5 or SWF). The size iof the published file (which is the most important) will not change when you delete unused items in the Library.
