Click box at wrong location

I recently purchased a subscription to the 2017 Captivate version.  When I record a software simulation, the click box ends up a few inches from the spot I had actually clicked when I was recording.  I realize that I can move the click box when I am editing, but I don't understand why the click box doesn't seem to be calibrated to the correct location when I am recording.  Thanks for any suggestions!
