Copying and Inserting a Slide in a Cp2017 project causes issues with Question slides

Not sure why or how, but we've recreated the issue four times now:

Using Cp 2017 on Windows 10 desktop. I have three complete projects in a series, and the client preferred a specific slide be inserted near the beginning of each project. All of the projects are in Cp 2017. the slide has two text buttons for basic navigation that exist on all the slides in projects. The navigation buttons on the question slides are the native buttons to the slide. Here's the interesting/annoying issue: When I paste the text and graphics slide to either of the other projects, the question slides immediately lose all their navigation buttons. It does not affect the standard slides in any way, just the question slides. While its not a killer issue, it is a time-eater to have to reset all the knowledge checks.

I know we can just build the slide in each project, but that's the workaround, not the reason this is happening. If we re-work and repackage elements of the projects for remediation or blended approaches, it could become a much bigger issue.
