cs6 re-install

I have found my serial number, but Adobe is telling me it is not valid. I am guessing it is because I registered it back in 2011. How do I complete my re-install with a registered SN?

‌If you are indeed talking about a Creative Suite, you posted in the wrong forum, this is the Captivate forum.

Did you perhaps not deactivate your Captivate license on another machine where you installed it?  If you have exceeded your maximum allowed number of activations that might be the real issue.
