Customizing responsive menu in Adobe 2017

Hi Community!

I've been playing around with Captivate 2017 and trying to figure out how (while still using Fluid Boxes) to hide/show/swap menu items so the interface becomes more m-learning friendly.

As an example: https://elearning.adobe.com/2017/09/free-responsive-captivate-course-template-download-from-fastercourse-com/
But, still using Fluid Boxes.

Thanks for any insight!

Alex.

Lilybiri, I'm sharing a proof of concept how I achieved this in a fluid box layout. Each of the objects in the group are unlocked from the fluid box. The timing for each object and the group object is set to rest of project and object on top. The menu button toggles the menu on and off. There are relative and absolute as well as smart position settings for the group object and its content.

Unlocked means also losing the advantages of fluid boxes, even more than

    with static fluid boxes.

Yeah, it seems that there is no way-around from this problem. Either you have fluid boxes or you have customized menus. The further that I managed to do is to hide some of the objects from the menu, but not being able to add some is pretty anoying =/

Hopefully there will be more options in future versions of the software.

Thanks everyone for trying to help though!

I'd use a similar approach as what you have shown here. Use a grouped object, with shape buttons in it. Set actions for each button to jump to slide etc. Make sure all elements of the grouped object (menu) are unlocked from fluid box. Size the object in the widest view (Desktop) say 300 pixels - use the ruler to determine. Set the timing for the group object to persist or show for rest of project and object on top. Create a toggle button on each slide to show/hide the menu (grouped object).

Hmmm, you cannot group in fluid boxes workflow, you cannot time for the rest of the project neither, unless you only use static fluid boxes which means losing a lot of the advantages of fluid boxes.

Exactly! It seems that without those options (show for rest of project and group) we loose so many customization options! Such a shame!
