Disappearing images

Using Captivate 8.  I open my project to edit it and there are images that should be on my slide (I put them there and they ARE on the timeline) that do not appear.  When I try to import a new image to that slide, it will not appear either.  The only thing I did between opening the project and playing that slide with missing images, was to change the size of the primary view.  This is something I've been doing with all of my presentations (changing the size) and have not run into this problem with disappearing images before.  Weird.  What is the solution here?

Have you copied slides from one project file to another? I've run into situations where the images do not appear in the pasted project file.

I did re-size the primary view.  That is the only thing I did to it between it being OK and having the images disappear.  When I opened another project, the same issues were happening----some images were apparent, others were not visible at all.  Closing Captivate altogether fixed the issue.  One project I "saved changes", the other one, I did not.  Both projects, when re-opened now show all their images.  Someone in our IT group suggested maybe I had too many projects open, but I only had two open at the time---I sometimes have as many as 4 going and have never run into that problem before.  I'm glad it "fixed itself" though----I didn't really do a thing.

Thanks for all your input, everyone!

Perhaps you could reapply the images from your library to ensure they are updated with any changes that have occured. Select the image and then click on the button that looks something like this.

You will then be able to reselect the image from your Library. If the image isn't in your library then you have found your problem. you could click on Import to select a fresh copy of the image from your hard drive and see if that corrects the issue. Doing this should have no impact on the placement or timing associated with these images, unless you skewed the image. Hope that helps.

This has happened to me a few times as well. Can be really worrisome!

I've found that it's happened if I've moved my project between computers (say a laptop and a desktop) to work on it.

It's like it only connected the "path" of an image where you previously worked on it, even though the captivate file is supposed to "house" all of the images in itself.

Sometimes opening and reopening works, sometimes just clicking on a 'ghost' image and waiting may bring it back. Other times I've had to manually reinsert....

So this is less of a fix, but more of a "I've been there too." Like I said, seems to only happen if I've ever worked on a file on more than one computer.

    Good luck!

Please, post a screenshot of the timeline.

The images that are viewable are the ones not visible.

I also closed and re-opened it, thinking that might fix the problem.  It did not...
