Question

Does Captivate 8 Recognize Firewire?

I have a Saffire Pro 40 that I run audio through, but it appears Captivate 8 does not recognize it. I also tried with Soundflower to no avail. Audio can be captured with an old m-audio fast track USB.

Captivate uses the system level, i.e. Mac OS or Windows, audio inputs.

If your Mac recognizes the Saffire Pro 40 for other recording options, your Captivate should recognize and use it. But, others have reported issues with 'Soundflower' on these forums, you might want to search for their solutions.

It seems to me that you can do better work by capturing audio outside of Captivate, saving to a AIFF or WAV file, editing in that application, and exporting out the final audio to the OS.  Then, import the finalized work to Cp.
