e-Learning

Hi

Am I right in thinking Adobe Captive 9 is the recommended software to create effective, flexible e-Learning packages?  Does anyone have any experience of using Captive Prime and how it works in terms of payment?

We are a small business consultancy looking to create a variation of e-Learning packages. I have used Captivate in the past (version 4) but found it struggled to integrate with other Adobe products.  I've watched all the latest videos and Captivate 9 looks a million times better that it was only a few years ago.

Is it essential to purchase Captivate Prime alongside Captivate?  How does Prime payment work?  For instance if i created a new e-Learning programme and 15 users signed up would we pay on a per user basis?

Also is Captivate easy to learn? (I use Adobe Creative Suite products on a daily basis).  Would a training course be recommended?

Any advice anyone has would be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance!

Kim

    Hi Kim,

Your asking a multi part question so I will address it from my perspective. Adobe has definitely streamlined and improved Captivate over the last 4 versions. it actually integrates really well with other adobe products now (photoshop, illustrator etc) There is still a learning curve, but they are much more "user centric" in their design process now. So its getting easier and easier to learn.

You don't need Adobe Prime to create and launch Captivate courses. Technically all you really need is access to a web server. If you want to track students progress and keep record of who took, what then you would need an Learning Management System like Adobe Prime. But there are many of them out there, so if you are going that route you might want to shop around.

I will let others address the cost and experience issue of Adobe Prime or other LMS's

    Cheers
