Enhancing a hyperlink/button with rollover text

Hello,

I would like to enhance a hyperlink with a rollover text in a different screen area, The rollover text should describe, where the hyperlink is leading to.

I already tried using a rollover caption. But when I make the hyperlink and the rollover area overlap, I can't click the hyperlink anymore.

If it is impossible to solve this problem with a hyperlink, then I would also appreciate any solutions using a button.

In that case I would strongly recommend to have a look at the new CpExtra widget (HTML only) by InfoSemantics. You can download a trial version to check it out:

One of its many features is that you can use a rollover event on any object. That may be the answer. Of course Rollovers are not supported in responsive projects.

HTML output is even more sensitive to having two interactive objects in one location.

Which version are you using? Is is the latest version, CP9?  Do you want to publish to SWF or to HTML?

You cannot put two interactive objects on top of each other, which is what you experienced when trying to put a rollover caption over a hyperlink.

I'm using Captivate 9 and I would like to publish to HTML. So if you cannot put two interactive objects on top of each other, is there another way to display a descriptive panel when the user is hovering over a hyperlink/button?
