Help me to better understand the differences in the Quiz Reporting Preferences

I am having a difficult time understanding the differences between quiz reporting preferences.  What is the difference between Incomplete-----> Complete and Incomplete-------Pass/Failed?

How do these affect the SCORM report to the LMS?  How do these affect the Pass/Fail options?  I apologize in advance if these are "elementary" questions.

These settings in Captivate's Quiz > Reporting screen allow you to configure which STATE values are used when reporting to the LMS.

Each LMS is a little different in how it interprets the SCORM 'standard'. Some work better when they get Incomplete/Complete status values, while others will only work with Pass/Failed.  Generally, if you are determining completion based on percentage of slides viewed, then Complete/Incomplete is used.  If you have a quiz which reports a score, then you're more likely to be using Pass/Fail.

But in the end, the options you choose here are something you need to confirm with your LMS vendor (if they will talk to you).  And in all cases, you need to TEST, TEST, TEST!
