If I use an SVG, does it get converted to a another format when exporting to HTML5?

I want to use an SVG in my Captivate 9 seminar because it'll yield a sharper look for a logo. Will this image get converted to a sized png or something else when exporting to HTML5? I want my content to be readable in older versions of Internet Explorer (8.x).
