Installing Captivate 7 patch

Trying to install Captivate 7.0.1 patch but I keep getting a message about the Adobe Application Manager being damaged.  I then install the CC manager but it does not recognize Captivate on my computer.  Is there a way to manually browse to it so it will see the update?  I can't get Captivate to launch at all.  I am running MacOS 10.12 on a MacBook Pro.  And before anyone says it, I am able to run it on my iMac, running the same OS.

Fixed it!!  I did some searching around and someone suggested that I open the installer with the terminal.  Well, that was a bit worrisome but I did show the package contents, opened the setup file in terminal and it worked.  I didn't really do anything other than open the setup file, let it run in terminal and then was able to open the installer.  But getting the link to download with the patch already installed was really helpful!  Drinks all around!

At this stage, may be best to just remove Captivate entirely, reinstall, then install the patch.

Sounds like there's some deeper issue (i.e. Application Manager - I'm not sure you can remove/reinstall that alone on the Mac).

Thank you!  I think I may be getting closer.  I downloaded from there but now I am getting a message saying the "installer failed to initialize".  Ever see that one before?

No, sorry, that site is an alternative to the Adobe site but have no idea why you get this message.
