Question

iPad multiple video issue - Only the first video will play.

Has anyone figured out how to actually have more than 1 video that will play on the iPad? We have multiple videos placed as Event Videos on different slides within our captivate file. Basically what is happening is that the first video will always play, but any consecutive video after wont display or play. This only happens on iPad (using HTML5 output) but is fine on modern browsers (using HTML5 output).

I have a similar post in this forum. Our MP4 Video stopped playing in out HTML5 Online Courses after the iOS 10.3.x update on iPad. We publish our online content with Captivate 8. Our MP4 Video is processed using the recommended Apple iPad Codec. This is extremely frustrating because our end-users with iPad were liking the ability to do their online courses on their tablet.

The Video Play window in the course displays two Play Buttons that are slightly offset from each other. Neither button responds when you click on it. We sure wish that Apple would fix whatever they broke in the 10.3.xx update.

iPad compatibility is a must-have for developers and companies providing tools for eLearning!

Our experience is that playing multiple videos within one slide on the iPad needs to "re-load" the slide each time the presentation switches to another video. Thus a workaround is to jump to another (empty) slide and return to the slide immediatly (which could be realized by some js programming and timeline organization). We have to accept some flickering.

What is the file size of each video?

The filesize of videos is around 2 MB.

I tested this out and had no problem running this on my iPad mini. Here is the link...

The videos are just music with a still image from my band in the 80s. but each video is between 40 and 180 MB.

    Hello Doug,

    Welcome to Adobe Forums!

Could you please confirm the exact version of Captivate you are using ? Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate.

Have you checked it with a new blank project as well ?

How are you hosting the content on the iPad , Have you published on a LMS or it is on your website?

    Regards

    Hi Himanshu,

I have the same problem as Doug. I am using Captivate 9 (9.0.1.320). Yes the same thing occurs with a blank project. I have published to an LMS and to a website with the same result.

    Thanks

    Louise
