Question

No audio when I open Adobe Captivate 8 HTML5 project in Safari 9

I have the following situation:

I publish my HTML responsive project (Adobe Captivate 😎 on a IIS server with SSL (https) security. When I open this project on Chrome/ IE on PC/Macbook: no problems at all.

When I open this project in Safari on Macbook or IPad: no audio and long loading.

Also when I open the project on my Android phone on Chrome or Iphone: No audio.

Now when I publish the project on a non-ssl http:// IIS server the audio DOES work on Safari and phones.

Does anyone know what to do? Do I have to change IIS settings or is this a Safari setting? Does anyone know why there is different behaviour between the browsers?

Doing a little research, If you are serving audio content over https you need to have a valid certificate or it will not play on iOS devices (or on Safari on a Mac).

Thank you for your reply. I also found some more issues with html5 audio and SSL on google. I will have a look at the certificate and its configuration. When I know more I will post it here.
