Object Action button is inactive

Can somebody tell me how shall I enable the action button (see the highlighted red one)? I double clicked the objects as suggested in tutorials.action tab

You do not have any interactive object on that slide, reason why that actions button is inactive.

Select the three shapes with names 'normal', 'sad' and 'happy' (you can do it on the stage by dragging a rectangle around or crossing the shapes. Then check the option 'Use as button' in the Properties panel.

That red button looks to be on the second slide.  So you need to be ON that slide in order to see it in that colour.

Not sure what you understood. But I was talking about the object action button - the one by which we set actions for objects (see right side of the image - highlighted it in red).

You need to add another state to activate the button.
