Read input of text entry box from Quiz slide and write it in a variable

Hello everyone!

I've created a text entry box from a quiz slide (because normal text entry boxes do not seem to report to SCORM)

and it reports results to SCORM fine. However, I also want to get the input from the text entry box at runtime and write it in 

a variable. I want to use this variable in order to make other choices, e.g. show certain buttons or not.

How can I do this?

Writing in a normal text entry box (not from a quiz slide) that can write to a variable doesn't seem to be 

an option for me, because this way the results from the variable are not shown in my SCORM reports with a time stamp of the action.
