Question

Requirements for interaction?

Hi,

I am planning to create several modules that appear to be simulations within a proprietary system. These will be converted to YouTube videos. Can gamification be incorporated in this format and without the use of LMS?

Thank you very much for any insight you can offer up here.

A video on YouTube is by definition passive! You cannot have interactivity in a passive video. If you want gamification, interactivity you have to publish to an interactive output which can be HTML5 or SWF. If you don't need tracking, reporting, a LMS is not necessary, you can upload the published folder to a webserver. Here is a link to an interactive short movie which I uploaded that way:

Thank you Lilybiri! You are always so quick to reply and provide very clear and helpful responses. I appreciate this. I rather chuckled at your first sentence because that is exactly what I thought. Being on a learning curve however, I don't want to assume anything.

Personally I am always astonished at those type of questions because it is basic knowledge, nothing really typical for Captivate. It is probably due to wrong terminology like 'interactive video' which is not really video like you see on Youtube at all.
