Restart course and reset all states and variables

Hi,

I have a project that has a lot of branching and advanced actions, but no quiz. I usually include a Restart button so the learner can re-experience the activity without having to close and re-open. With this particular activity, the slide navigation gets really weird after the first time through, so I'd just like to figure out a way to re-start them from the beginning with all states and variables set back to the original settings.

Is there a way to do this?

Only if you truly terminate the session and begin another fresh one will all states and variables reset. Otherwise you would have to use Advanced Actions to reset everything back to starting values.

Rod: Would you recommend resetting the variables and states by using a entry slide at the beginning or would you add the advanced action to the restart/replay button. Any benefit in doing it on the button?

Either way should work. I'd probably do it from the Advanced Action executed by the button click, with the final action line being to jump back to the first slide to avoid any possibility that things were not quite back to square one when the learner gets to that starting slide again.
