RotateTo motion effect pushes object to top-left of output
Hi,
I'm currently using Captivate to create an animation. This will be used to explain certain concepts around my company's products.
I'm trying to create a moving clock as a way to show time progression during a working day. I know I can't change the pivot point of a single line, so I've created two lines, made one invisible (minimum width, same colour as background) and grouped these. When I apply the RotateTo effect, it uses the meeting point of the two lines and the visible line appears to rotate like a clock hand.
The problem is, the rotation seems to affect the positioning of the object. When I preview or publish, the line appears on the extreme top-left - I only know this because I see it as it goes past the 3 o'clock to 6 o'clock positions, all other positions it passes through are outside of the project boundaries.
I've taken the below screenshots - the first is the project as it appears in Captivate, with the "clock hand" in the top left of the project and visible in any point of its rotation. The second is in preview, where something pushes it to the extreme top-left.
Any help greatly appreciated. ![]()
Thanks,
Michael
