Question

Saving last slide - saving variables?

Hi everyone,

as I´m impressed by the capabilities of Captivate I think of using it for creating a game that ist not particularly for e-learning.

As far as I found out, almost all I need for my game can be realized using Captivate.

What I could not find out yet (even after hours of research) is the following:

Is there a way to store the last visited slide when the user quits the app? So, could it launch the same slide on next startup?

Aside from that, is there a way to save variables and have them available on next startup?

If so, how can it be done?

Would it also work for an iOS-/Android-App?

Best,

Hartmut

There are two ways of bookmarking (returning to same slide):

    1. When uploading as a SCO to a LMS it is turned on automatically
    2. When not uploading to a LMS, turn on Self-paced learning in the TOC, ccokies will be used to store the slide left.

As for variables: you would have to save them to Local storage and retrieve on a next session. That can be done with JS (google, there are resources available) or using the CpExtra widget developed by InfoSemantics. You can download a free trial on their site
