Scrolling Text Widget

I am working in Captivate 9.0.0.0.223. I have created a
template with just a few slides that will be a standard start to all lessons.
In theme of the template I have a number of assorted slide types for the
developers to choose from during production. One slide type I needed is for
text with vertical scroll bars, so I've used the "Interactions > Learning Interactions >
Scrolling Text" widget on a content master slide within the theme.
When I tried to test a “New Project” using the template and then insert that
slide into a project, I am not able to select the widget to populate it with any
text. I have also tried to use the variable to add the text with the On Load
and Advanced actions. Still doesn't work. Is this the wrong use of this widget?

    Correct answer Lilybiri

I have used that learning interaction a lot (see my blog) for custom question slides, but I don't think you can use it as a 'placeholder'.

BTW you missed two patches, present version is 9.0.2

    Thank you for your response.

Hmmm, I was expecting it to be a placeholder. Well its not a show stopper - I guess
I'll have to have the developers bring in the widget.

Unfortunately, I have to wait on my IT department to make my upgrades! The
few of us on this project each have a different version right now and I have
requested we are all upgraded to the latest.

BTW – does my full name appear on your view of my post? I have a screen
name, and I did see a bunch of older posts concerning the issue of screen name
    vs. real name being displayed.

    Thanks again!

No, only your screen name appears. You alone will see your full name.

Placeholders are labeled that way. None of the learning interactions is a placeholder.
