Simulation Links within a Responsive project

I have an online course and I'd like to have a smartshape button which activates a simulation in a separate window.

Question: Should I create two simulations?  One for desktop breakpoints and one for mobile devices?  Or will the one I place in desktop view properly scale when viewed in mobile device view?

    Correct answer this.onEnterFrame

If you are creating a simulation of a responsive application (or web site) than I would recommend you create one for each size that your course will be in. Then use different buttons/links for each course breakpoint to open the appropriately sized simulation in a new window.

Keep in mind that on mobile devices (and maybe desktop too) users may need help getting back to the course's window/tab after completing the simulation in a new window/tab.

If by 'simulation' you are referring to screen captures of some software application, please remember that screen captures are actually just images and that means that in a Responsive environment they won't be able to change aspect ratio without looking stretched and distorted.

A lot of Captivate developers ask about the best way to do simulations in Responsive.  I personally don't see the advantage of using a responsive project when the content is a software simulation.  I'd recommend just going with a normal project that maintains a fixed aspect ratio.  Then even if you scale it, although you'll lose some resolution, it won't look anywhere near as bad as stretching it all out of shape.
