Smartshape buttons work in preview, not in published html5

Hello

I am using the latest Captivate. I am working on a file that was created with Captivate 8/9.

There were no changes made except to remove a widget and publish as html5.

When I preview in html5 (F11), everything works great. However, when I publish, ALL of the smartshapes that we use as buttons lose all functionality. I have tested viewing it right after publish and after loading on our site - they don't work.

Any way around this issue?

I will try that. This project has been a major problem. We had a glossary widget that was not functioning either. It may have been corrupted, who knows. Let me try what you suggested. Thank you so much!

I don't know how many advanced actions you have (I prefer shared actions whenever possible). If you fear corruption, copy/paste to a new blank project with the same (custom) theme and size could be a good choice. However advanced actions triggered by slide events can be lost (most actions triggered by interactive objects will be fine).

These are the properties below. So far, this is the only project giving us this issue upon publish.

Style is overridden (look at the + sign). What about the object states? Was this created in 8 or 9?

If this is the only project, did you already try to delete that shape button and recreate it (but please use a proper object style, could save you tons of time instead of having to style each button individually). Crossing my fingers that you are not having a corruption popping up.

It must be an upgrade problem, because I am using Shape buttons all the time, and never had your experience.

Can you give some more details? Which functionality is lost? Since Captivate 9 the InBuilt states of shape buttons are defined in a different way than in CP8. Are you sure the problem occurs for upgrades from CP9 as well? Were the shape buttons part of the theme with their object style?

They are just square shapes that we use as buttons and are supposed to "Go to the next slide" or "Execute advance action" upon click. Some of these shapes are not doing anything at all, not even showing the hand cursor. Some only show the hand cursor and are clickable on the lower 1/3 of the shape only. I have been going in and adding button interactions (this is time sensitive) on top of the shapes but this has been very tedious since there are a lot of these shapes used as buttons.

Did you check the object style? Were they created in 8 or 9? I didn't have any problems with upgrading from 9. How did you set them up: is the style overridden or not?

You don't need to layer a button on top, the shape button itself should be able to do what you want. Can you check the Object state panel for such a button?
