Status representation, success/completion criteria

Hi everyone,

I' m searching for correct settings with following:

I have a project without any quiz but 20 "Main"-slides that must me visited plus 5 other "info"-slides beside.

The info-slides are reached by links from main-slides, but If any user does not visit one ore more info-slides, that should not affect the "completion-status".

Completion-Status should be set as "Complete", when al 20 min-slides have been visited.

All main-slides are visible in TOC, 5 info-slides are marked "not-visible" in TOC.

I need correct settings for "Status representation" and "Success/Completion criteria".

Do I have to set "slide-views" to 100%? Are these 100% calculated from the 20 visible slides only?

In my project I force the user to call one slide after an other and so visitig the last slide should create "Status=Complete"

Please help.

Thanks a lot for any hint

Rolf

Correct answer Lilybiri

Slide views % is for all slides. However lowering the % to 80% for slide views will not solve the goal, because the user could visit 5 info-slides and only 15 main slides as well.

Why not change the approach and attach a score to an interactive object on the last slide? It can be 1 point, and then you could require 80% of slide views + Pass the 'quiz' (which would mean having clicked on that interactive object with the 1 point score) and set the Quiz passing score to 100%.

hi Lilybri

Thanks for this idea!

Just to make me shure, you are talking about theses settings:

1. setting any Button ("finish course") in my project on last page,

giving it this:

2. Then within the "Publishing settings dialoge:

3. and this:

Please verify this, since I#m rather new in Captivate.

My firs guess is: sounds a bit complicate but obviously it should work.

Thanks a lot!

OK, learning the German translations now in Captivate   I never used Moodle as LMS, suppose it accepts score requirement in points (Blackboard used to work better with percentages).

This could be OK, or you could even add Slide views at 80% (Folienansichten).
