Question

Stop and Go for a Insert CPVC?

Hello everyone,

I inserted a CPVC file into my Adobe Captivate 8 CPTX file. I want to make the timeline STOP at a point and then have a button make the timeline go to a new area in the timeline. I would appreciate the best way to do this.

Thank you for your help.

I guess I can always cut up the CPVC but I was hoping to avoid that work.

I think I found a solution. I can create a button and Continue, or Pause and then select the Timing, Rest of Slide.  But how do I determine "how long it will stay paused?" I want to make sure it's paused long enough for the text to speech to be read.

Are you using Captivate 9? There is a command 'Delay next actions by....' which you could us in a standard advanced action: pause the slide, wait for x seconds, continue.

You cannot add an interactive object to a video (cpvc). You will have to split up that video in several clips.

Okay. However, this is a now a cptx file with a cpvc within it.

I don't want to use a Pause Action. Rather, I would like to have a button labeled "continue" and have it advance to a new location in the timeline.
